The primary mission of the Northwestern Boating Council is:

-
Disseminate information between clubs.
-
Watch over matters of marine and outdoor recreation, and legislation as to its effects on boat owners and boating clubs.
-
In general, sustain and create friendships between boating clubs through friendly boating competition and interclub events.
Our History
The Northwestern Boating Council came into being in early 1959 at a Commodore's Ball held in the Tacoma Outboard Association Clubhouse in Tacoma. The idea was conceived by a group of then Commodores to organize a council of boat clubs to sustain a new type of friendship, which has developed into an exchange of invitations to various Commodore initiation dances. In the fall of 1959, a series of planning meetings were held, and as a result, the Northwestern Boating Council was established on December 30, 1959. |
